Kinga Błońska's life was a success story. She was a happy married woman and a lawyer. She did not lose. By the time. First she covered her husband with treason. Later she was forced to be a defender of one of the heads of an organized criminal group, a Gray. Having everything pretty, she headed for one of the clubs. Without regretting the alcohol, she was given the opportunity to spend the night with a newly-discovered man. What was her surprise when a few days later she met him in the courtroom ...
After such a wide-ranging promotional action and numerous opinions praising this debut, I expected a big WOW. And unfortunately it was my mistake. Public prosecutorIt is not a crime, although some crime story was supposed to be the basis of the whole storyline. However, eroticism, although the scene of sexually strained sex is not the best definition here. But less about what this book is. The most pervasive stereotypes hurt me. Of course, the beautiful 30-year-old, who was such a sensational lawyer, often acted like a slim teenager. About the prosecutor Łukasz Zimnicki in hard to write me at all, because I expected a character to fit Szacki. Unfortunately, the prosecutor, created for the typical bad boy, generally behaved as if he had split the self and completely lost his mind to see the patron of Błońska.
Narration, conducted from two points of view, in the beginning led me to frenzy. Leaving half a page and repeating half the situation from the perspective of the other hero was tiring. Fortunately, with these pages, the alternating relationships grew longer and I became used to it. I also can not forget that the beginning of Kinga's and Luke's acquaintance was to me the life of Gray's Anatomy - the relationship between Meredith and Derek started exactly in the same way.
The book was promoted as a revealing scandalous truth about the functioning of the Polish judiciary. But you will not find anything here. Maybe for people who have never encountered a courtroom it will be fascinating. But for someone who knows well how this world looks from the inside, the Prosecutor does not present anything shocking. I would even say that at times too much stress pulls reality.
It is a great pity that the crime story was not used and the author did not go to the real crime scene, because the potential was. This was especially noticeable at the end of the novel. Autumn is about to show a continuation. If Paulina Swish breathes life into heroes, pushes them out of the stereotype frame and decides to bet on the blood and bone crime, maybe something else will happen.
